Get UmmahPlaces on your phone
UmmahPlaces installs to your home screen. It opens without the browser bars, so it works like an app, and there is nothing to download and no store account to make.
On an iPhone
- Open ummahplaces.com in Safari. Chrome on an iPhone cannot do this step.
- Tap the Share button, the square with the arrow.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The UmmahPlaces mark appears on your home screen.
On an Android phone
- Open ummahplaces.com in Chrome.
- Tap the three dot menu, top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen, then Install.
You may also see a button appear at the bottom of the screen offering to install it. Either way works.
The same steps work on a desktop, where an install icon appears in the address bar in Chrome or Edge.
Being straight with you about what this is: a web app that installs to your home screen, not a store app. There is nothing to download and no store account to make.
If your phone has no signal, it shows a plain notice saying you are offline rather than the listing you asked for. That is deliberate: opening hours, phone numbers and ratings always come from the live directory and are never stored on your phone, so it can never tell you a place is open when it is not.
