Welcome to the Islamic Center of Inglewood, a vibrant hub of faith, community, and education nestled in the heart of Southern California. Our center has a rich history, rooted in the growth and evolution of the Muslim community in this diverse region.
Established in 1971, the Islamic Center of Inglewood, also known as Masjid-ul-Islam, was founded by a dedicated group of individuals committed to providing a place of worship, education, and fellowship for Muslims in the area. Over the decades, our center has grown and evolved alongside the community it serves, adapting to the changing needs and dynamics of our diverse congregation.
Our journey began in the 1960s, a time of transformation in American immigration policy, which opened doors for people from all corners of the globe to make their home in the United States. The passing of new immigration laws in 1964 paved the way for increased immigration from Asian, African, and Middle Eastern countries, leading to the arrival of many Muslim families in Southern California.
