As-Salamu Alaykum (Peace be upon you)! Alhamdulillah, the Islamic Center of Orlando (ICO) is honored to serve as the largest masjid in Central Florida, supporting a vibrant and growing Muslim community since 1987.
We are located in the heart of Orlando just minutes from Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld and are open to all who wish to experience the peace and unity of our community.
<strong>Who We Are</strong>
The Islamic Center of Orlando is a diverse community representing people from all backgrounds. Our members include converts, lifelong Muslims, and multi-generational families, all united by faith. As a non-profit, we are fully funded by the Muslim community and guided by the Holy Quran and the traditions of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). We see Islam as a universal mercy, emphasizing unity beyond race, ethnicity, or nationality.

Our center is a place of worship, education, and community engagement, offering a wide range of religious, social, and cultural programs. We host daily prayers, educational programs, and interfaith discussions, promoting understanding and harmony. Beyond spiritual services, we offer outreach and recreational activities that enrich lives. Through these efforts, we create a welcoming space for reflection, learning, and connection.

The Islamic Center of Orlando seeks to practice and present Islam in the United States by offering religious, educational, and social activities for both Muslims and non-Muslims. Our objective is to foster and promote a socially responsible Muslim-American identity that contributes positively to the community. We are committed to building bridges of understanding and empowering individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.

This requires collaboration with other faith groups and civic organizations to strengthen our shared future. We highlight Islam’s celebration of life and its inclusive spirit. We offer education and services that uphold justice, encourage compassion, and protect freedom.
40+ YEARS OF DEDICATION
<p style="text-align: center">History of Islamic Center of Orlando
1980s – Over 40 years ago, in the 1980s, a small group of Muslims pioneers would gather in a house to perform their Jumu’ah (Friday prayers) in congregation.
1987 – The small group of Muslims purchased a parcel of land to build a Masjid.
1990 – The Construction of the Jama Masjid was complete.
2012 – Our current Masjid is overflowing every week on Friday and is in dire need of an expansion. We began the expansion project.
2017 – The construction began of the New Masijd.
2024 – After 7 years, the construction of the new masjid was completed Alhamdulilah.
The new masjid is the largest Masjid in central Florida and has the capacity to hold 3000 people, nearly triple our previous building.
The Islamic Center of Orlando is looked after by a team of volunteers. At the top, we have a board of trustees, beneath which we have 12 separate committees overlooking the needs of the community.
Our Future plans include a community center, high school, and sports complex.
