About
Us
The Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center is a mosque and community center that serves over 1500 congregants at its weekly Friday services and countless others in the Boston community through offering its space and a variety of community programming.
Our Mission
ISB serves the spiritual, educational, social, and cultural needs of the Boston’s Muslim community and society at large while exemplifying excellence and fostering peace.
Our Vision
ISB: A place where faith is manifested in action, compassion, and excellence.
Our Core Values
Compassion

Excellence
Our Strategic Focus
In 2014, the ISBCC conducted 400+ community surveys and 9 focus groups to understand the community’s needs. Out of these needs, emerged three core areas of focus for the center’s programming and services over the next five years. With the impact of COVID, ISB focused heavily on virtual programming. We are focused on developing more programs for children, continuing to forge strong relationships with civic leaders and building strong partnerships with other non profits, and creating unity within our diverse community.
Our Building: A cultural landmark
As one of the most diverse Islamic Centers in the United States, serving over 1400 congregants at its Friday services, it’s only fitting the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center stands tall in one of Boston’s most historic neighborhoods. The ISBCC is located in the heart of Roxbury, a neighborhood that was originally founded as a town in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630. The rich cultural history is a constant reminder that the ISBCC is not just New England’s largest mosque, but the center is a shared “dream” that is representative of Boston’s multicultural footprint.
Our Building: The cornerstone of the New England Muslim community
The 70,000 square foot structure is not just a mosque, but a dynamic cultural center that is designed to serve the entire community. The ISBCC houses a school, a café, a social service organization, a gift shop, a body-washing chamber for funerals, and its multipurpose space is used for various functions and events, including but not limited to interfaith, nonprofit, cultural, and educational organizations. Future planning calls for a library, an exhibition space and a building of an Imam Seminary. The greater Boston area has had a hand in its construction, and its leadership reflects the full diversity of our community.
