About
The mission of the ISSWW is to provide religious, social, and educational services to enable the Muslim community to fulfill its responsibilities and contribute to the betterment of society by embodying and exemplifying leadership and excellence and fostering peace.
History
The by-laws of the Islamic Society of Southwest Washington (ISSWW) were signed into being on June 10, 1998. Since 2014 we have had the pleasure of having our own, permanent facility in a quiet part of Vancouver surrounded by the most supportive neighbors imaginable. We are also known as ‘Masjid al-Noor’ which is Arabic for ‘Mosque of Light’.
Structure
We operate as a 501c3 organization that currently operates with 3 board of trustees and 6 board of directors who are elected periodically from amongst the congregation in a volunteer capacity. Our board is diverse in all aspects including ethnicity, age and gender.
Our Works
We currently participate in many interfaith activities with local Churches, Synagogues and Temples promoting unity, understanding and support amongst all faith groups we encounter. The ISSWW has been a faithful sponsor of the Peace and Justice fair for over a decade in Vancouver, WA.
Our Leadership Team & Contact Information
We are always excited to give tours and speak about our facility and faith to anyone interested. Please reach out to us via our contact page. Our board of directors are Ilyas S., Ahmad Q., Mohanned Q, Alex A., and Riaz. You can reach any of them via our contact page.

I came in for Dhuhr, stayed for Asr… not ‘cause I forgot the time, but because it felt like a hug for the soul.
